Autumn, and all the reasons I love it.
Today I finally finished decorating the outside of our house for Fall, my favorite season!
I love living in Upstate New York, especially this time of year. The humid summer weather is behind us and the air is once again, clear, crisp and cool. We have a front row seat to everything autumn; small town fall festivals, apple orchards as far as the eye can see, pumpkin festivals, local soccer and football games, streets lined with gorgeous maple and oak trees whose bright red, orange, and yellow leaves will soon drop, family hay rides through our farm fields followed by a gorgeous bonfire, miles and miles of brightly colored mums, dried corn stalks blowing in the crisp, fall air…don’t even get me started on the food (I’m looking at you Pumpkin spice)!
Even with all that Autumn goodness, I am always looking for new and exciting fall activities to do with my family on the weekends. Apple picking, hiking and carving pumpkins are the sure fire go-to’s so I got excited when I came upon this checklist from RealSimple.com. It is fool proof and printable so you can keep it with you in your car! I am excited to branch out, so to speak, this fall and create some new family traditions (make a pinecone bird feeder, anyone?)!
If you love this invigorating time of year as much as I do, I’m sure you’ll find some new, exciting activities to try, or maybe it will remind you of some of your favorite childhood activities you have forgotten about.
Either way, enjoy and stay warm!
